About

But do thy worst to steal thyself away
The Scribe’s Confessional is an eclectic collection of essays and creative work by Kyle Kirkley (hereafter referred to as the “Scribe” in a mostly mocking way). The Scribe makes no claims to the accuracy, efficacy, or enjoyability of the works he posts to this blog. Instead, the Scribe hopes to use this space as his personal repository for junk he must simply get out of his head.
The Scribe is a husband, father, friend, teacher, and explorer. He wishes he could claim status as a Renaissance Man, but he fears that as of yet, he has fallen short of such an esteemed title. However, the Scribe does enjoy referring to himself in the 3rd person, which belies an ego that would urge him to claim all impressive titles available, including “philanthropist” and “prodigy.” But alas, modesty (however false it may be) is the signpost of modern maturity. So, the Scribe will be content with his current nomenclature.
Hi Kyle -
I’m so happy to see that you’re still writing – I look forward to keeping up with your literary adventures.
Happy Writing!
Lori
Thanks for reading and for the encouragement, Lori! Unfortunately, I’ve had to remove the short stories as I’ve submitted them for publication, but please do read the first chapter of my novel…I’d love to hear (or read) your feedback. If you’re so inclined, send me an email (link should be under my name). Thanks again!
Kyle, happy to discover your blog! How do you get it to post on Facebook? Is that automatic or do you do it manually? I’m still in BA, shopping and writing. Very glad we were in the same workshop. I look forward to reading more from you! VW
